The 7UP Team have won the first prize at the Startup Weekend Danang 2019 for their ‘Clean Head’ project about a helmet liner keeping hair and scalp clean.

In addition to the cash prize, the team receive free-of-charge incubation programmes. They also have a good opportunity to access investment funds in the city in order to turn their ideas into startups.

The second and third prizes came to the ‘BIO-MS bio-product and BIO-MS1 microbial organic fertilisers’ project by MICWAY Team, and the ‘PANSO washing solution to remove E. coli bacteria from the surface of fruit and vegetables’ project by Crazy Team, respectively.

Jointly organised by the VN-UK Institute for Research and Executive Education and the Global Shapers Community Danang Hub, the Startup Weekend Danang 2019 took place from 25 - 27 October.

This competition was part of a series of pre-event activities of the 4^th International Startup Conference and Exhibition in Da Nang - SURF 2019.

In just 54 hours, participants were required to work in teams, and they together discussed and developed their own business plans with the help of start-up mentors. The best teams advanced to the final round. The finalists were given a chance to talk with angel investors who will help them develop good ideas.
