Leading IT businesses in Viet Nam honoured

Within the framework of the Smart City Summit 2019 in Da Nang, the Viet Nam Software and IT Services Association (VINASA) recently organised a ceremony to honour the recipients of the ‘ Viet Nam’s 50 + 10 leading IT businesses 2019’ title.

The title aims to honour prestigious and outstanding firms in the IT sector, and promote their cooperative ties withdomestic and international IT partners.

The title is granted to the enterprises involved in the 3 categories: Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), IT Outsourcing (ITO) and Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO); Software and IT Solutions and Services; and Digital Content, Applications and Solutions for Mobile Devices.

In detail, amongst the honourees, 50 businesses operate in the aspects of software outsourcing and services, providing software products, solutions and mobile applications.

Meanwhile, 10 prominent enterprises are involved in such new technologies in the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0) as artificial intelligence, block chain, and big data.

They were selected based on the criteria of finance, human resources, market and customers; technology and products; corporate governance; recognized achievements in production and business activities; engagement in social activities; and others.

These 60 honoured businesses have achieved positive results in developing digital transformation applications in order to enhance customer experience, reduce costs and time, and increase revenue for businesses.

Also, many of these businesses have established research centres on the application of artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things (IoT).

According to VINASA’s statistics, these companies in generated a total revenue of more than 693,000 billion VND, (equivalent to 30.6 billion US$) last year, accounting for 31% of the Vietnamese IT industry’s total.

A total of more than 184,000 people now work in these businesses, making up for approximately 20% of the country’s total IT workforce.
