Promoting student exchange activities in Southeast Asia
Sponsored by the Southeast Asia Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO), the 6th SEAMEO Polytechnic Network Meeting is taking place at the Da Nang-based Duy Tan University from 16 – 19 October.

In attendance at the event are a total of 160 delegates from 64 educational institutions based in Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Viet Nam. In particular, also present was Vice Chairman of the municipal People's Committee Le Trung Chinh.
The event aimed at sharing information on successful academic exchange programmes among SEAMEO’s member schools, and promoting cooperation in the aspects of education, science and culture amongst schools in Southeast Asia and SEAMEO's partners.
SEAMEO is an intergovernmental organisation of the 11 Southeast Asian countries, which was formed on 30 November 1965 by the Kingdom of Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and then Viet Nam.
The 5 previous meetings took place in Brunei, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and Malaysia. A total of 1,000 students have taken part in exchange programmes to date. From now on, the SEAMEO Polytechnic Network Meeting will take place twice a year.
SEAMEO’s mission is to promote the internationalization of the members of the Southeast Asia Technical and Vocational Education and Training (SEA-TVET) institutions, and leverage the global competitiveness and skills of TVET students.
