The city to host series of international IT events

The Da Nang People’s Committee and the Viet Nam Software Association (VINASA) will jointly host a series of international IT events in Da Nang from 21-24 October. Notable amongst them are the 3rd Smart City Summit 2019 and the 12th Japan ICT Day 2019.

The Smart City Summit 2019, which will take place on 23 October, is expected to attract a total of 600 domestic and foreign delegates, many of whom are the national government’s high-ranking officials and the leaders of the leading national and global tech firms.

The annual event aims to promote cooperation, vision sharing, and experience of smart city building; giving solutions to smart city management, planning, and development on the basis of new technologies such as IoT, Big Data, AI, and SMAC.

Themed ‘Creating Smarter and Securer Cities by Digital Solutions’, the summit comprises 4 seminars, namely operating a smart city based on data analysis (data-driven); digital government and finance for smart cities; infrastructure & technology for smart cities; and applications for smart city.

In addition, the event’s organisers will cooperate with the World Smart Sustainable Cities Organization (WeGO) and the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO) to organise the Leaders’ Talk in the framework of Smart City Summit 2019.

Jointly organised by the Viet Nam Software & IT Services Association (VINASA) and the Viet Nam - Japan IT Cooperation Committee (VJC), the Japan ICT Day 2019 is scheduled to take place on 22 October under the theme ‘Viet Nam-Japan cooperation to promote digital conversion’.

The event is expected to see the participation of a total of 350 delegates, of whom 100 are from Japan.

The participants will participate in 3 sessions, namely Viet Nam-Japan ICT cooperation in the trend of new technologies; IT manpower development in favour of Viet Nam-Japan IT cooperation; and efficient improvement in software outsourcing.

In addition to the above-mentioned events, several side-event activities, including business matching, exhibition, IT company visits, and city tours, will take place in the city during these international events.
