Over the past 25 years, UDN has recorded many achievements in training and providing a large force of leaders, managers, experts, teachers and entrepreneurs involved in many essential aspects and industries, hereby partly accelerating the growth of Central and Central-Highlands regions, and Viet Nam as a whole.

UDN is the national key regional university, consisting of 5 universities, one junior college, 7 agencies and institutes, 35 research and technology transfer centres, 35 Teaching-Research Teams (TRT), with more than 1,500 lecturers and 2,300 employees in total.  UDN’s member schools together provide multi-field, multi-level and multi-disciplinary training programmes.

In particular, the quality and qualifications of UDN’s staff have been constantly enhancing. UDN has 9 professors, more than 100 associate professors, nearly 500 doctoral degree holders and over 1,000 master’s degree holders.

In his remarks at the celebration, Chairman Tho underlined a need for UDN to make greater efforts to affirm its stature as one of the 3 major scientific training and research hubs in Viet Nam. The objective is to make an increasingly important contribution to the socio-economic progress of the Central and Central-Highlands regions, and Viet Nam as a whole, and the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No 43-NQ/TW regarding the city’s progress by 2030 with a vision toward 2045, with a target at developing Da Nang into a green, modern-smart, global city with unique identity.

In particular, focus should be on speeding up the investment into facilities, especially the construction of the Da Nang University Village which comprises of some parts of Da Nang’s Hoa Quy Ward and neighbouring Quang Nam Province’s Dien Ngoc Ward, and building UDN into one of the leading centres of training, scientific research and technology transfer in Viet Nam and upholding the autonomy model.

The municipal government leader believed that UDN would promote its strength as a regional-level university, innovate its teaching methods, update training curricula that meet regional and international standards, enhance its staff’s qualifications and strengthen foreign language proficiency and soft skills for students in order to provide their graduates who adapt themselves to the competitive labour environment in the face of the global integration.

At the celebration, 7 individuals from UDN were awarded the second and third-class labour medals from the State President. Besides, many individuals and units received emulation flags and certificates of merit by the Ministry of Education and Training and the municipal People’s Committee.
