The team members are Nguyen Le Thuy Huong, Ho Thi Ut Ngan, Nguyen Thi Hong Tham, Cao Trong Hau, Tran Thanh Hai, and Pham Tan Hoang. Most of them are university students in the city, but Tham is working as a staff member at the city-based Duy Tan University.

Thuy Huong, a 7UP Team member, said the idea for a motorcycle helmet liner came after witnessing the discomfort of many people as their helmets get damp and wet in rainy and windy weather.

“After more than 2 days of developing the idea and listening to advices from start-up mentors at TSWD 2019, the ‘Clean Head’ project on a motorcycle helmet liner keeping hair and scalp clean was developed”, Huong added.

During the TSWD 2019, the project has been highly appreciated by the contest’s juries for its easy-to-fold design, being suitable for all helmet sizes, and its lightweight, soft and environmentally friendly material.

Huong noted that her team’s product is made from environmentally friendly materials, so it will be sold at lower prices than others made from cloth or rattan.

In the coming time, the 7UP Team will have the chance to attend an incubation programme launched by the Da Nang Entrepreneurship Support Company Ldt (DNES). Also, they will have the opportunity to access investment funds in the city in order to turn their ideas into startups.

The Techstars Startup Weekend Da Nang 2019 was part of a series of pre-event activities of the 4th International Startup Conference and Exhibition in Da Nang - SURF 2019.

In just 54 hours, participants were required to work in teams, and they together discussed and developed their own business plans with the help of start-up mentors. The best teams advanced to the final round. The finalists were given a chance to talk with angel investors who will help them develop good ideas.
