Inspired by his deep sympathy for the physically disabled, Da Nang young native Le Hoang Anh, the CEO of Multi Viet Nam Co., Ltd., and his colleagues have together created MultiGlass smart communication device. Their creation allows those with disabilities to use computers by moving their head, eyes, and alert drivers to possible drowsiness during their long-distance driving.

Le Hoang Anh, the CEO of Multi Viet Nam Co., Ltd won the first prize at the recent Pitching Competition - SURF 2019 for MultiGlass.

Le Hoang Anh graduated from the Da Nang University of Education said, “During my voluntary trip to the municipal Association of Disabled People, I realised that those with mobility disabilities face a number of significant barriers, especially their limited access to educational and employment opportunities. Meanwhile, computers and the Internet could support them significantly to remedy these obstacles. That’s the main reason why came up with the idea of creating a product that made it easier for the disabled to use computers”.

In March 2016, Anh embarked upon creating the products, and in October 2018, MultiGlass makes its debut in the domestic market.

MultiGlass smart communication device consists of 3 separate versions based on main technology platforms, namely IoT, iris recognition and artificial intelligence (AI).

Products No 1 and 2 are exclusively for the disabled. Utilising version No 1,  the user can control the computer with eye and head gestures, whilst version No 2 allows the user to control household devices thanks to IoT connection. Version No 3 targets more different users, including drivers. By integrating driving goggles with the transport business’s main servers, this product analyses the eyes of the driver and automatically send a drowsiness alert 15 minutes in advance,  hereby helping the business monitor the driver's operation and minimising the risk of traffic crashes involving drowsy driving.

According to Anh, with the above-mentioned advantages, MultiGlass products are sold at 35 USD and 50 USD each in the domestic and foreign markets, respectively.

In the past 3 years, the company has sold more than 50,000 products.

To complete the product, it is known that Anh and his colleagues went through a very difficult time. “In the early days of starting up a business, I and my colleagues struggled with a severe shortage of capital, consultants, technology support and business orientations as well. Sometimes we feel disappointed, but finally, given our strong passion to make good products for the sake of the community's benefits, the whole group was determined to develop MultiGlass by own efforts”, said Anh.

Anh and his colleagues have been making great efforts to constantly improve their brainchild’s features.

Currently, Anh’s company is implementing the patent registration for MultiGlass in the US, the UK and EU so that it can penetrate into these foreign markets by 2020.

Multi Viet Nam is on track to add more iris data management features applying Blockchain,, Big Data and other technologies, hereby facilitating ophthalmic hospitals have materials to treat eye-related diseases.

MultiGlass has been granted with 2 domestically applied patents. It is worth praising that this device was introduced at the ASEAN-China-UNDP Symposium, which took place in Ha Noi in September at the invitation of UNDP Viet Nam. In attendance at this event were representatives of the Vietnamese ministries of Foreign Affairs, and Labour, War-invalids and Social Affairs.

Another outstanding achievement is that this highly practical product won the first prizes at the recent Pitching Competition - SURF 2019, and the ‘Entrepreneurs of  2018 – 2019’ organised by Total Group.

Besides, the device won a second prize at the National Entrepreneurship Awards 2017 and was listed in the ‘Viet Nam Golden Book of Creativity 2016”.
