Local team come first at Informatics Olympiad for Students 2019

The 28th Informatics Olympiad for Students (OLP'19), the international programming contest (Procon) Viet Nam and the 2019 International Collegiate Programming Contest (ICPC) Asia Da Nang Regional Contest concluded on Friday after 3 days of competition.

The Da Nang University of Science and Technology won the first prize in the team category at OLP'19’.

In the specialised and non-specialised IT team category, the Da Nang University of Science and Technology came first. 

In addition, Le Minh Quang from the Ha Noi University of Science and Technology overcame 80 rivals from across the country to win the trophy in the individual category.

In the Open Source Software contest within the OLP ’19, the first prize went to the Ho Chi Minh City Open University, whilst the second prize winners were the Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance's team.

The trophy of the Procon Viet Nam, which saw the competition of 31 teams grouping 90 students from 17 nationwide universities, came to the University of Engineering and Technology under the Ha Noi National University. The Da Nang University of Science and Technology claimed the first prize.

Meanwhile, a team from Japan-based Kyoto University finished first in the ICPC Asia Regional Contest, which drew 95 Vietnamese teams and 17 others from Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, Indonesia, and Myanmar. This Da Nang-hosted contest serves as a qualifier for the 2020 ICPC World Finals, which will be held in Moscow Russia next June.

This is the fourth year that the above competitions have been conducted online with high level of accuracy and transparency.
