The city’s students haven’t gone to school since 3 February due to coronavirus outbreak.

During the school closure, all schools in the city have been sterilised with Cloramin B disinfectant chemical.

In addition, courses about infection prevention and control recommendations for COVID-19 have been provided for school teachers.

Over recent days, teachers of the Binh Minh Pre-school in Hai Chau District have become actively involved in disinfecting all tables and chairs, classrooms, kitchens and playing areas.

Mrs Cao Thi Liem, Headmistress of the Dien Bien Phu Primary School in Thanh Khe District, said her school’s teachers have prepared online homework for their pupils, and cleaned up classrooms and schoolyard during the school closures.

Director of the municipal Department of Education and Training Le Thi Bich Thuan said some useful software has been introduced to schools in order to help their pupils to review their learnt lessons online.

Director of the municipal Department of Health Ngo Thi Kim Yen stressed the necessity for schools to closely work with parents to monitor their pupils’ health.

She also underlined the importance of offering nutritious meals to school pupils in order to help them increase resistance to infections as they return to schools.
