Vietnamese Deputy PM approves Da Nang University project planning
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has approved in principle the detailed 1:2,000 zoning planning map for the Da Nang University project, which has been suspended for more than 2 decades.
The approval aims to concretize the previous adjustments to the general plan of the project, and implement the development strategy of the University of Da Nang by 2025, with a vision towards 2035, heading forwards developing this tertiary institution into one of Viet Nam’s three leading training hubs which meet international standards.
Officially approved by the Prime Minister in 1997, the large-scale much-awaited 8,620 billion VND project was scheduled to encompass 110ha in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang and 190ha in Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban District, Quang Nam Province.
The Da Nang University project is designated as a national and international-level multi-disciplinary and multi-sectoral education-training and research hub.
There will be educational and training areas, scientific research facilities, incubators, commercial, service and accommodation facilities, gymnasiums, defense and security education areas, squares and other auxiliary venues.
The Da Nang University project will be financed by the national government and city budgets, ODA loans, public-private partnership (PPP) attraction, the university’s lawful revenue and other legitimate financial sources.
The already-approved planning also stipulates specific resettlement steps and the implementation of priority sub-projects within the framework of the project from 2025 until 2035.
