Deputy Director of the Agro-Forestry-Fishery Promotion Centre Ngo Thi Thu Van highlighted the significance of plant tissue culture to help farmers save costs and time in buying chrysanthemum seeds from other localities nationwide.
Besides, growing chrysanthemums from tissue culture has relatively high survival rates and is resistant to insect pests and diseases, thereby bringing more economic benefits to growers.
It is known that plant tissue culture techniques have been used in Cam Le District’s Hoa Phat Ward since May. Till date, over 180,000 seeds have been produced by tissue culture.
Currently, growing chrysanthemums from tissue culture is still a pilot project in Da Nang and the new farming techniques are being used in farms located Hoa Phuoc and Hoa Lien communes in Hoa Vang District, Son Tra District, and Quang Nam Province’s Nui Thanh District.
