Da Nang lecturer finishes as runner-up in Viet Solutions 2020

Dr. Trinh Cong Duy from the Software Development Centre (SDC) under the University of Da Nang has finished as a runner-up in the Viet Solutions 2020 - a competition seeking digital transformation solutions for Viet Nam which concluded in Ha Noi on 23 October.

The Da Nang lecturer received a cash prize of 100 million VND for his 4-dimensional map platform (Map4D) on mobile devices, the first of its kind in Viet Nam.

The map displayed in real 4D was built from multiple data layers, ready for the Internet of Things (IoT) connections, enabling to analyse the information and turn the data into business insight.

Co-organised by the Ministry of Information and Communication, and the Viettel Military Industry and Telecoms Group, the Viet Solutions 2020 aims to seek best solutions to aid Viet Nam government on its journey to digital transformation.

The competition’s organisers received a combined total of 350 entries of entrants from 23 countries around the world.

Previously, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dinh Thanh Viet, Head of the Education Quality Assurance Excecutive Board of the University of Da Nang, along with his research team members, had taken third place in the Viet Nam Science and Technology Innovation Award (WIPO-2019) for their research work entitled “Ways to Improve the Efficiency of the Fault Passage Indicator (FPI) in order to Enhance the Reliability of Power Supply for Smart Distribution Grid in Da Nang”.
