In an attempt to provide better public services in Da Nang, the municipal Department of Information and Communications have successfully deployed many apps on mobile in the city, hereby contributing to making a shift from the traditional urban management to digital data management. Included are online public services, KUUHO, Give and Take, Danabus, BusMap and Open Data Portal.

Most recently, the Department has introduced the ‘Danang Smart City’ mobile app for local residents on a trial basis.

The app aims to create closer links between municipal government departments and agencies, and the public, as well as help Da Nang realise its target of becoming a smarter city in the future.

The app has been designed for the Android platform in Vietnamese language.

The app facilitates public access to all of the city’s existing apps integrated on it, including Chatbot 1022, Give and Take, and KUUHO.

The app allows its users to access new guidelines and policies of the national and the municipal governments, as well as information relating natural disasters, flood and emergency cases, in a prompt yet effective fashion.

Also, users will find it easier to search all information they want on such aspects as the handling of administrative dossiers, the travel schedules of bus routes, food safety and hygiene, traffic violations, accommodation establishments, and businesses operating citywide.

Besides, users are able to send their constructive recommendations and complaints relating to healthcare and tourism-related services to the Da Nang government, as well as ask for help from the community in emergency cases, through this mobile app.

Nguyen Van Quoc, a resident of Da Nang, said Danang Smart City has a user-friendly interface, and it is easy-to-use and really worth trying.

Currently, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications is providing active support for local residents to install this app on their smartphones, and collect public feedback in a bid to create the best app for the public.
