Over 200 school pupils take part in Da Nang Robothon competition
A combined total of more than 200 pupils of 54 teams from primary and junior high schools across Da Nang on Saturday took part in Da Nang Robothon Festive Day 2020 which took place in the Duc Tri School offering some combination of kindergarten, elementary and secondary education.

Themed ' For the World without Covid-19', this year's event was co-host by the DTT Eduspec JSC - STEM Academy and the municipal Department of Education and Training.
According to the event’s organisers, the participating teams were divided into 3 levels: elementary, intermediate, and advanced.
Under the Robothon competition’s rules, each team had 30 minutes to prepare for their performances, and then had only 2 minutes to complete 5 tasks given by the contest's organisers: transporting F0 (Covid-19 patients) to quarantine sites designated for F0, transporting a hand sanitiser bottle to the dedicated quarantine site for F0 (for intermediate and advanced levels), and transporting F1 persons (close contacts of F0), and F2 persons (who had been in close contact with F1) to quarantine sites designated for F1 and F2 respectively.
In the end, team Hoang Van Thu Primary School consisting of Ngo Minh Khoi, Tran Huynh Trong Nghia and Nguyen Vuong Minh won the first prize in the category of the EV3 Elementary Level.
Tran Duc Bao and Tran Duc Tri, both from the Nguyen Van Troi Primary School, along with Le Duy Hoang Phuc from the Ton Duc Thang Primary School, shared first place in the category of the NXT Elementary Level.
Nguyen Le Minh Phuong from the Huynh Thuc Khang Secondary School and Nguyen Tran Gia Bao from the St. Nicholas School gained the highest points amongst the participating team to top the EV3 Advanced Level.
Three pupils from the Huynh Ngoc Hue Primary School namely Tran Thi Phuong Mai, Nguyen Minh Thu and Vo Quoc Trong took top prize at EV3 Intermediate Level. Meanwhile, Vo Duong Anh Thu, Ngo Tran Kim Vy and Nguyen Pham Khanh, all from the Le Quy Don Primary School, took the lead at NXT Intermediate Level.
Over the past year, such contest has gained reputation as a useful playground for school pupils and university students around the world who show a keen interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects, and robothon as a whole. It has been organised successfully in such countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, Viet Nam, and China, and attracted the participation of nearly 1.7 million school pupils and university students worldwide.
