Nearly 50% of teachers and educational officials vaccinated against COVID-19

Till date, a combined total of 9,302 of teachers, officials and staffers working in the Da Nang educational sector, accounting for about 46% of the total, have been vaccinated against COVID-19, a source familiar with the municipal Department of Education and Training recently said.

As noted, teachers, educational officials and employees at local preschool and primary school have been administered vaccine shots at a high rate.

As reported, 34 out of the total 41 teachers, officials and employees at the Binh Minh Kindergarten, based in Hai Chau District have received 2 COVID-19 vaccine doses, the rest have yet to get injections due to their health-related reasons.

Likewise, the Hoa Lu Primary School located in Thanh Khe District has witnessed 55 teachers, managerial officials and employees access 2 COVID-19 vaccine doses.

Meanwhile, the immunisation against COVID-19 for junior and senior high school teachers, managerial officials and staffers have recorded at a low rate.

At Thanh Khe District-based Thai Phien High School, for instance, only 2 teachers, officials and employees have vaccinated with 2 jabs against the coronavirus, 4 others received the first shot, and the remaining 92 have not been injected.

Meanwhile, no teachers, officials and staffer at such schools as Do Thuc Tinh Junior High School in Hoa Khuong Commune, Hoa Vang District, the Nguyen Hue Junior High School in Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, have yet to be administered COVID-19 vaccine shots.

“A lot of teachers want to get vaccinated against the deadly virus so they can feel more secure whilst conducting teaching acts once pupils come back to school. We are looking forwards more batches of vaccines in the coming time," said Mr. Vo Thanh Phuoc, the Principal of Nguyen Hue Junior High School.

It is expected an additional 2,546 people working in the local educational sector will get inoculated against the virus in the coming days.
