Pupils back to school on Sept.1 as earliest
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a timeframe for the 2021 - 2022 school year for preschool, general and continuing education. Pupils will be back to school on September 1 at the earliest.
First graders can be back to school as earliest as August 23. The opening ceremony is slated to take place on September 5 and the school year will end before May 31, 2022.
Certificates for the recognition of completing the primary programme and junior high school graduation must be done before June 30, 2022.
Meanwhile, the enrollment for the first grades of schools will be complete before July 31, 2022.
The National Senior High School Graduation Exam, the National Exam for Gifted Pupils and national science and technology exams will be organised under the guidance of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Days off, the time returning to school and the extension of the school year must not exceed 15 days as compared with the timeframe of the 2021 - 2022 academic year for preschool, general and continuing education institutions throughout the country in a bid to ensure the implementation and completion of the curriculum in special cases.
As learners in some localities may not be able to return to school in time on September 1 as scheduled due to the impacts of COVID-19, localities may have to start the new school year and launch online learning.
