90.83% of Da Nang's teachers and school staff get a COVID-19 Vaccine Dose

90.83% of school teachers and staff, along with childcare workers across Da Nang have received at least their first shot of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to data from the municipal Department of Education and Training.

Da Nang’s push to ensure that all teachers, school staff, and childcare workers will be vaccinated during the city’s COVID-19 vaccination rollout program in a bid to pave the way for safer in-person learning as soon as possible.

In detail, immunisation coverage rates for teachers in preschools, primary schools, junior and senior high schools reached 88.86%, 93.01%, 91.1%, and 91.77% respectively. Those have yet to get shots due to pregnancy, a medical condition and being out of the city.

In addition, 38.92% of school teachers and staff, along with childcare workers in Da Nang have had both doses. In detail, vaccination coverage rates for teachers in preschools, primary schools, junior and senior high schools reached 58.85%, 40.15%, 1.33%, and 22.77% respectively.

As of October 7, a combined total of 822 teachers, 6,030 school pupils and university students along with 5,812 accompanying people had returned to Da Nang from other Vietnamese localities, reaching the 75% target set for the first phase of the city’s plan to welcome these people back.  

The rollout of COVID-19 vaccines for teachers and school staff and welcoming teachers, school pupils and university students back to Da Nang are part of the city’s school reopening plan.

Da Nang’s reopening plan is being developed with careful consideration, adherence to COVID‐19 precautionary measures.

The municipal Department of Education and Training and relevant agencies are tasked with creating and presenting a best plan for reopening schools safely and mitigate disease spread as well as protect the safety of teaching staff and pupils while attending in-person classes to the municipal administration for approval.
