Training on psychological counseling for pupils amid COVID-19
The Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training and the United Nations Children's Fund in Viet Nam (UNICEF) are jointly organising an online training programme on psychological counseling and support in the context of COVID-19.
Held on October 21 and 22, the event features the participation of more than 1,000 staff in charge of social work and psychological counseling from the municipal/ provincial departments of Education and Training, primary, junior and senior high schools across the country.
Within the framework of the programme, there are discussions and exchanges of experience on identifying psychological problems facing high school students amid COVID-19, skills of providing psychological support and counseling services for pupils during the outbreak and their returning to school, the risk of psychological in cyberspace, and guidance on work and family balance techniques for educational staff and teachers.
In addition, the programme also equips psychological counselors and teachers with skills of counseling and supporting pupils when they encounter psychological difficulties and how to protect them from violence and abuse.
