Da Nang's schools to operate at different COVID-19 alert levels

The Da Nang government has issued guidelines for citywide schools ‘operations at different COVID-19 alert levels.

The COVID-19 alert levels will apply to students and staff who are living in Da Nang. All schools in the city must follow the Da Nang administration’s Guidelines for safe resumption of in-person instruction.

At all alert levels:

- Strict compliance with the 5K recommendations of the Ministry of Health is compulsory for students and teaching staff at all educational establishments in Da Nang.

- Stay home if

 + You develop COVID-19 symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. If you're feeling unwell, isolate wherever you are and check with their nearest healthcare facility for what to do.

 + You or one member of your family are required to self-isolate at home in line with the city’s COVID-19 regulations.

 + You or one member of your family entering and returning to Da Nang from outside the city but have yet to declare health status and undergo mandatory self-isolation in line with the city’s COVID-19 regulations.

- All students and teaching staff who are eligible for COVID-19 booster shots based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Health must get vaccinated before getting back to in-person classes.

- Certificates confirming recovery from COVID-19 during the last 6 months will be required to attend face-face classes.  

Alert level 1 and level 2: Prepare and reduce

At alert level 1, everyone needs to be ready in case COVID-19 reappears in the community. At alert level 2, COVID-19 remains contained with an increased risk of community transmission occurring.

Teaching, assessment, and activities will occur on campus as usual with proper precautions in place.

Alert level 3: restrict

At alert level 3, there is a high risk that COVID-19 is not contained.

Teaching and assessment will be delivered both online and on campus with physical distancing protocols.

Schools in areas at alert level 3 can offer in-person instruction with infection control and distancing precautions.

Alert level 4: lockdown

At alert level 4, it is likely that COVID-19 is not contained, and the area at this alert level is placed under full lockdown.

All teaching and assessment will be delivered online. Campuses are closed to the public, staff, and students.

* Students and staff who are living in areas at alert level 4 will not be allowed to attend face-face classes. Strict compliance with rules for people entering and returning to Da Nang from other parts of the country is compulsory for arriving to schools for in-person classes.
