A webinar on promoting the application of scientific and technological innovations in agriculture sector took place on Friday, November 12.

Hosted by the Da Nang Innovative Startup Support Centre under the Department of Science and Technology, the online event introduced attendees to the city's support programme for agriculture sector, as well as the importance of the application of scientific and technological innovation in urban agricultural production towards sustainability.

Also at the event, a representative from the municipal Department of Science and Technology highlighted the importance of applying scientific and technological innovation in the agricultural sector to not only reduce input costs and increase productivity, but also improve the competitiveness of products in the market.

On the other hand, the transfer of plant varieties and livestock with advanced technological processes significantly contributes to improving economic efficiency, and promoting agricultural structure, especially urban agriculture.

In the coming time, the city's agricultural sector will promote the transfer of advanced scientific and technological achievements during the implementation of agricultural extension programmes or projects to promote the development of high-tech, organic and urban agriculture.

The focus will be on conducting research about highly-practical products for high-tech agriculture, creating agricultural products with high added value, developing collective trademarks and geographical indications for featured products, and carrying out support activities for young agricultural startups in terms of knowledge, production experience, and investment.
