Talented female lecturers passionate about teaching and doing research
With strong passion and enthusiasm, the young female lecturers of the University of Science and Technology- University of Da Nang have made constant efforts in teaching, doing scientific research and many of them have gained many remarkable achievements.

Numerous useful solutions for environmental protection
Assoc. Prof. Dr Le Thi Xuan Thuy, working at the Faculty of Environment, is one of the few female scientists who possess four research works granted trademark protection certificates by the National Office of Intellectual Property, namely Multi-layer underground water purification equipment; Methods of treating wastewater contaminated with heavy metal ions by gamma-poly glutamic acid-coated magnetic materials; Multistage worm rearing equipment for agricultural waste treatment; joss paper burning bin. She is also the head of many other research projects contributing to environmental protection and serving people’s practical demands.
Sharing about these above-mentioned achievements, Dr Le Thi Xuan Thuy humbly said that it's simply because she was passionate and wanted to serve people’s needs. She realized that she needs to create such models via visits to many places. Sometimes, she had to spend her own money to pursue these studies in hope of putting them into practice for real-life use.
Pursuing the dream of conquering knowledge
Dr Le Thi Phuong Mai, working at the faculty of Electronics – Telecommunications, has just become one of 30 outstanding scientists to receive a prestigious post-doctoral scholarship from the VINIF Innovation Fund under Vingroup Corporation.
After nearly 4 years being a PhD student and continuing to work as a postdoctoral fellow at Sapienza University of Rome in Italy, Dr Phuong Mai is pursuing her passion with the "Research on the energy efficiency of massive MIMO smart antenna integrated systems and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) technology in multimedia communication (V2X)". This project promises to bring many useful results on this enthusiastic female lecturer's journey to conquer the peak of knowledge.
As shared by Ms Mai, a female lecturer has definitely encountered a large number of difficulties due to both ensuring teaching, research as well as arranging household chores. She has to sketch out a strict to-do list for the week, month and year to balance things out and ensure the progress is completed as desired.
Inspire students to "hunt" for prizes
Dr Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Vice Dean of Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology (FAST); has been famous for hers outstanding achievements in spreading inspiration, leading many teams of the faculty and the university won high prizes in competitions such as The Viet Nam Engineering Projects in Community Service( EPICS); The eProjects Innovation Showcase
Moreover, Ms Thu has also been active in activities to promote innovative research such as the "Smart Campus" contest for students oriented towards smart urban or school development (2018-2020); conduct "Artificial Intelligence Experience Training Course for upper high school students"; “Training the application of LoRa Network for the young community”; in tandem with connecting scholarships to bring more chances for FAST students to have abroad internships.
Facilitate favourable conditions for the contingent of female officials and intellectuals
For over many years, the University of Da Nang has always appreciated and created a favourable environment as well as conditions to promote the potential in tandem with supporting female officials and lecturers to encourage them to perform their roles in teaching and scientific research by organizing many new models such as "Female Intellectuals Association"; contest "Women with technical projects serving the community"; “Women in STEM” (education combining science, technology, engineering and mathematics). As a member school of the UD, the DUT has always promoted women lecturers in science and creativity activities, to enhance their enthusiasm in teaching and doing research.
