On Tuesday, the Da Nang People’s Committee and the FPT Corporation entered into a cooperation agreement on digital transformation and smart city building during the 2021-2025 period.

In his remarks at the signing ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Da Nang Party Committee cum Chairman of the municipal People's Council Luong Nguyen Minh Triet thanked the FPT Corporation for its special care and timely investment for his city over the past years.

Deputy Secretary Triet vowed that Da Nang was always willing to coordinate and give timely support in terms of legal mechanisms so that the two sides can well implement signed contents, thereby significantly contributing to the city's overall growth under Politburo's Resolution No 43-NQ/TW on building and developing Da Nang by 2030, with a vision towards 2045.

He added that, over recent years, the city has issued a number of resolutions and plans on building Da Nang into a smart city, as well as breakthrough policies on digital transformation. Also, the city has identified digital transformation as one of the newest driving forces for its sustainable growth.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh expressed his thank to the FPT Corporation for accompanying and making positive contributions to the city's socio-economic development in recent years.

He added that, previously, Da Nang and FPT Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding for the 2017-2020 period which brought many practical results. Therefore, he hoped that with its long-lasting development history, great strengths and valued experience in digital transformation, the FPT Corporation will help the city realize its goal of turning itself into a smart city in the time to come.

Mr Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the FPT Corporation, pledged that his corporation would do its best to help Da Nang develop in accordance with its set orientations.

Under the signed agreement, Da Nang and FPT will together mobilize all resources to carry out digital transformation in eight aspects.

Specifically, as for transportation, top priority will be given to piloting electronic bus tickets, the Bus Management System (BMS) and vehicle measurement solutions.

In term of natural resources and environment, importance will be attached to perfecting the land database, developing a synchronous information technology infrastructure, and training qualified human resources to manage and operate information systems.

With regard to the field of education and training, the Khaothi.Online platform will be put into use on a trial basis, whilst ways to assess teaching and learning activities in some secondary and high schools will be renewed. Training course on enhancing professional skills in teaching STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and technology 4.0 will be organised.

In healthcare sector, heed will be on piloting the operation of a smart hospital for a district-level medical station, as well as connecting and sharing data between the smart hospital application and the e-government system and the city's shared data warehouse.

In the aspect of agriculture and rural development, digital transformation in fishing vessel management and fishery logistics will be boosted, and fishing vessels will be equipped with the Viet Nam Fisheries database system (VNFishbase). Also, e-pass to enter and exit agricultural, aquatic and seafood trading areas will be issued. This pass will feature COVID-19 control, medical declaration and electronic payment functions.

With regard to the industry and trade field, emphasis will be on boosting e-commerce in a bid to promote the sale of the city’s key industrial products, featured products, and OCOP products, as well as supporting business households overcome pandemic-triggered difficulties.

Moreover, focus will be on piloting the digital transformation project in Ngu Hanh Son District in the 2021-2025 period, and sponsoring the pilot implementation of a digital transformation project in Hoa Hai Ward People's Committee.

Heed will be paid to deploying digital transformation in the field of communication, innovating communication infrastructure in accordance with the convergence trends, and carrying out a number of industrial revolution 4.0 projects and programmes
