As reported by Head of Facilities and Investment Management Board of the project Doan Anh Tuan up to now, functional sectors have completed the clearance of 79ha/110ha in the Da Nang territory for the development of the project.
Currently, there are 3 units operating in the Da Nang University Village project, namely the Viet Nam-Korea University of Information and Communication Technology, the Defense Education Centre and Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy with a total of about 4,000 students.
Besides, the construction of the working office of the University of Technology and Education and the building of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy is progressing well, and both of them are expected to be put into use by the end of April 2022.
These two buildings are valued at VND200 billion in total allocated by the Ministry of Education and Training
For the time being, there are still 31 hectares in the Da Nang tertiary that have not been cleared due to many problems.
Currently, the University of Da Nang is urgently coordinating with functional local units to step up compensation, site clearance and construction of essential works.
After the field check, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasised that the Da Nang University Village project is a specific functional area, a multidisciplinary centre for education, training, and scientific research at the national and international levels and it is planned in the direction of smart and green city.
Given the important role of the project, functional sectors need to accelerate its progress in the coming time. Minister Son urged the two under-constructions buildings at the project to ensure labour safety, strictly comply with the design and meet schedule.
The project was approved by the Vietnamese government in 1997, with a total area of 300 hectares of which 190 hectares was in Quang Nam and the remaining 110 hectares in Da Nang.
On February 25, 2019, the Prime Minister approved ‘the Planning of the 1/2000 Zoning Plan" with an area of about 286.5 hectares: 96.5 hectares in Hoa Quy Ward, Ngu Hanh Son District, Da Nang cand 190 hectares in Dien Ngoc Ward, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province.
