Like others Viet Nam-wide, over 12,700 candidates in Da Nang on Thursday started sitting for the 2022 national senior high school graduation exam.

On Wednesday afternoon, the above-mentioned candidates were present at the 28 assigned test venues to hear the exam’s rules and procedures.

The organisation of this year’s 2-day exam is the same as in recent years with 3 independent tests in Mathematics, Literature, and Foreign Languages and two combined tests of Natural Sciences (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and Social Sciences (History, Geography, and Citizen Education).

It is known that the exam focuses on subjects learnt in the 12th grade. Only the literature test will be conducted as an essay exam. The remaining ones will be taken under a multi-choice format.

The candidates are not allowed to be brought into such exam room items as phones and equipment for receiving and transmitting information.

The high school graduation exam is held nationwide, with about 900,000 to 1 million candidates each year.

The exam not only fetches learners a high-school diploma but also determines admission to universities and junior colleges.

In case candidates are positive to SARS-CoV-2- (known as F0), they can be exceptionally approved for graduation without sitting for the exam according to the regulations adopted by the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training.
