Around 280,000 students citywide enter new academic year

As many as 280,000 students across Da Nang at all levels, from kindergarten to primary, secondary and high school began the 2022-2023 academic year following brief and solemn ceremonies this morning (September 5).

The ceremonies went on as usual with saluting the national flag, singing the national anthem, reading the State President’s letter, beating the drum, and a series of musical performances.

Municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and People’s Committee Vice Chairwoman Ngo Thi Kim Yen attended the opening ceremony of the new school year at the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted.

In the 2021-2022 academic year, the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted achieved many remarkable results with many students winning high prizes at municipal and national-level competitions.

During the 2022-2023 academic year, the school welcomes 300 10th graders. The school continues to carry out its mission of discovering and fostering talents for the city and the country, thereby creating preeminent educational values ​​in the direction of promoting qualities, core competencies and talents of each individual.

To implement new general education curriculum (GEC, 2018) for 10th grades, the school strives to perform well its tasks, enhance the capacity of teachers and educational administrators, and promote creative and innovative activities.

Municipal People’s Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet shared the joy of teachers and students of the Phan Chau Trinh Senior High School at the start of the new school year as attending the opening ceremony on Monday morning.

Monday morning’s ceremony was the first in-person school year opening celebration after two years of organizing virtually due to COVID-19.

More specifically, the 2022-2023 academic year will mark the 70th birthday anniversary of the Phan Chau Trinh School (September 15, 1952 - 2022) with proud traditional values.

During the academic year, the school continues to promote the results achieved in the previous school years, build more facilities in the direction of modernity, renew teaching methods, and facilitate students to participate in cultural exchange programmes to access advanced educational models in the world.

Also on Monday morning, municipal People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh beat the drum to kick off the new 2022-2023 academic year at the Pham Phu Thu Senior High School in Hoa Son Commune, Hoa Vang District.

During the ceremony, Chairman Chinh presented flowers to congratulate the school and students on the occasion of the new school year, as well as awarded students with outstanding achievements in the enrollment exam for grade 10.

Municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh attended the school opening ceremony at the Son Tra District-based Le Do Secondary School.

In the solemn atmosphere of the ceremony, Mr. Minh along with leaders of Son Tra District and the school offered incense at the monument of Le Do Hero inside the school campus.

He called for concerted efforts of the school’s teachers and students to well fulfill their tasks of learning and training, and continue to uphold the teaching and learning tradition over the past more than 47 years.

When attending the opening ceremony to begin the new academic year at the Ngo Thi Nham Secondary School based in Lien Chieu District, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Tran Phuoc Son hailed achievements gained by school teachers and students over the last school year.

He expressed his hope that the school’s teachers and students will try their best to reap more fruits in their teaching and learning.

In the morning of the same day, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Council Cao Thi Huyen Tran attended and congratulated the Tuong Lai (Future) Special School on the occasion of the new academic year.

During the new school year, the whole school will focus on building a safe, healthy and friendly educational environment for students; organising more cultural and sports activities, folk games and extra-curricular activities; and actively apply information technology in management work.

Every effort will be made to build a school for comprehensive development, promote the school's achievements gained over the past years, and well fulfill the school year's tasks.
