Within the framework of the ongoing Da Nang Startup and Innovation Festival (SURF) 2022, the municipal Department of Science and Technology held an awards ceremony for the SURF Innovation Startup Competition on Friday.

As a result, the household-scale cordyceps farming cabinet model, developed by the Cam Le District-based Vinseed Biotechnology Co., Ltd,, won the first prize of VND40 million.

The project aims to create an at-home cordyceps growing cabinet with a capacity of 50-100 boxes of embryos/batch. The cabinet is improved from a conventional refrigerator on the market, fitted with additional devices to adjust the temperature, moisture, light, and breathability.

The cabinet has a Wifi connection function for the supplier to control, and people can monitor the parameters of the cabinet through an app on a smartphone.

The second prize of VND30 million was given out to the Viet Nam Oil and Gas Company Limited for its ‘Energy cycle in fishery industry’ project.

This project helps the water supply plant reduce water treatment costs, and residents earn more income from microalgae farming, thereby creating sustainable benefits for social development.

The benefits of the project will come from wastewater pretreatment, algae biomass and technology transfer. It brings benefits to not only the project operating company but also the society in developing the household economy and protecting the environment.

The STC Electric Electrical Equipment Manufacturing JSC took the third prize of VND 20 million for its project on safety relays for pumps and household pumps.

Safety relay is a device that converts 220V to 12V power to electric floats, eliminating the risk of electric leakage, electric shock and short-circuit causing fire and explosion due to the use of 220V direct source wire on the floats.

Developed by the Enzy Food Co., Ltd., the ‘Natural vegetable seasoning - Enzy seasoning’ project took the consolation prize worth VND8 million VND.
