1. Over the past month, Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, the Manager of the Hope School project, and his associates have been busy seeking "hopers" (new members for the school) in the southern provinces, mainly in localities western of the country.

He thought that when the last wave of COVID-19 was brought under control, many children's lives would be better than in the previous two waves but their lives were much more difficult. Many children have to struggle with life to earn a living, whilst others dropped out of school. However, persuading the children away from home and familiar things to come to th3e school is not easy.

“For the past two years, we have traveled from the Northwest mountains to the Central Highlands, and western provinces, to seek ‘hopers’. This trip promises to welcome 100 more children after Tet and our journey will continue because we want these disadvantaged children to live in a good learning environment" Mr. Quyen added.

2. The abovementioned hopers are more than 200 children aged from 6 - 18 from all over the country who were brought back to the school in 2022.

At school, the children were divided into self-managed squads according to men and women. The boarding area also divides boys and girls according to each floor to manage. Each room has 4 children in 4 different provinces or 4 different ethnic groups. Older children along with teachers are responsible for supporting younger ones.

The Hope School has now 20 teachers who work in both administration and management aspects. They also come from many different provinces and cities with the desire to sow love and hope for orphaned children. They play the role of teachers, fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters and friends of the children.

After a long period of staying at the school, the children know how to love each other, accept each other's differences, help each other to overcome difficulties and share sorrows and joys of daily life, and help their teachers.

3. In September 2021, Chairman of the Board of Directors of FPT Corporation Truong Gia Binh initiated the idea of building the school for children who became orphans due to COVID-19 until they reach early adulthood. Mr. Binh wanted to create an environment for children to be cared for, loved, studied and trained in order to turn pain into strength, thereby growing up and contributing to the construction and development of the country in the future.

Right after that, Mr. Binh and his associates quickly realized this humanistic idea. In October 2021, the first personnel of the project started working.

Why is Da Nang chosen to build the School of Hope? According to Mr. Hoang Quoc Quyen, Da Nang is a worth living locality for disadvantaged children to change their lives. In addition, Da Nang has a quite harsh climate as the sunny season is fierce and the rainy season is persistent. Therefore, children need to know how to adapt to difficulties as part of their lives.

Mr. Binh emphasized that the Hope School is a school of love. That is the love of teachers, brothers and sisters in the school, the great family of FPT and also the benevolent hearts in the community. Children who come to the Hope School will live in a learning environment not to receive meals or in-kind gifts. Therefore, the school wishes benefactors will give the school’s pupils experiences, lifestyle, and lessons, as well as sow more hopes for them to raise their dreams instead of meals, gifts and milk.
