Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy celebrates 60th birthday

The Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy held a ceremony on Saturday to celebrate its 60th birthday and 10th anniversary of being upgraded into a university.

In his remarks at the ceremony, municipal People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highly appreciated the university's great efforts in 10 years of being upgraded to a university in the health sector.

He took the opportunity to ask the Board of Directors of the university to continue to uphold their achieved results over the past time and train high-quality health human resources with professional expertise and pure professional ethics in medicine in order to add to the city's medical human resources.

The city leader pledged that the municipal authorities would create the most favourable conditions for the university to handle dossiers related to planning with a vision towards 2045, develop more facilities for teaching, learning and research activities, and construct a care centre for the elderly as part of a cooperation agreement between the school and its Japanese partners.

Under the management of the Ministry of Health, the Da Nang University of Medicine Technology and Pharmacy is tasked with training quality health human resources for the Central Viet Nam and Central Highlands regions.

Over the past six decades, the school has trained nearly 40,000 medical staff to meet the needs of medical examination and treatment activities. Generations of school students are currently working in most of the provinces and cities in the country.

According to Dr. Le Thi Thuy, Rector of the Da Nang University of Medical Technology and Pharmacy, the university targets to develop itself into a modern hospital – school by 2045 in order to meet the needs of training and taking care of people's health, thereby contributing to promoting the city's socio-economic development, especifically the health service sector.

To mark this occasion, the Da Nang University of Medicine Technology and Pharmacy was honoured with the Emulation Flags from the Ministry of Health and the Da Nang People's Committee.
