Experience in scientific and technological applications in cancer treatment
The Da Nang Oncology Hospital, in collaboration with the Viet Nam Cancer Society, K Hospital, and Ho Chi Minh City Cancer Hospital, recently organised a conference on cancer prevention and control in Da Nang.

Themed "Digestive - Lung - Breast - Gynecological - Urology - Hematology, Radiation Therapy, Nuclear Medicine, Pathology, Molecular Biology, Nursing and Palliative care”, the conference attracted 115 high-quality domestic and international scientific reports in terms of expertise as well as outstanding developments in the application and promotion of science and technology to improve the quality of cancer treatment.
The conference reflected the current picture of cancer prevention and control not only in Viet Nam but also in developed countries around the world, thereby helping conference participants to have treatment and research orientations, information and new cooperation in cancer examination and treatment, thereby contributing to improving the quality of cancer examination and treatment to a new level.
According to statistics from GLOBOCAN 2020, an online database providing global cancer statistics and estimates of incidence and mortality in 185 countries for 36 types of cancer, and for all cancer sites combined, the incidence and mortality of cancer worldwide are on an increasing trend.
In Viet Nam alone, according to the Ministry of Health, each year, Viet Nam has more than 120,000 new cancer cases and more than 75,000 patients die from this life-threatening disease. It is estimated that for every 100,000 people, 159 people are newly diagnosed with cancer and 106 people die from cancer.
