Over the past years, Da Nang has witnessed a continuous growth in terms of science and technology activities and human resources.

Specifically, there are 12 universities, training institutes and faculties affiliated to the University of Da Nang, and training and joint training institutions of universities outside the city.

The city is home to 69 central and local science and technology organisations and a large number of highly qualified research forces from institutes and universities in the city. This is a great advantage and potential in the research and development of the main human resource for the city's science and technology market.

Till date, the city has had a quite large number of intellectuals. In particular, the University of Da Nang has the largest group of intellectuals with 2,457 people with university degrees or higher, and Duy Tan University with 1,286 people. The municipal Union of Science and Technology Associations has 159,753 members involving social consulting, criticism and assessment activities.

Notably, organisations and businesses play a vital role in the development of the science and technology market.

Up to now, 21 science and technology enterprises in the city have had many scientific and technological results granted Intellectual Property Certificates by the National Office of Intellectual Property and won great prizes.

The city has provided active support for innovative start-ups, incubated147 innovative start-up projects and established about 57 businesses, thereby creating an additional technology supply for the locality.

Organisations and enterprises operating in many fields have made certain contributions in scientific research, the application of science and technology and advanced knowledge and techniques to production and life.

As of late 2022, the city had a total of 36,524 businesses, branches and representative offices with a total registered capital of VND242,097 billion.

In which, there are 9 enterprises represented by the municipal People's Committee, including 4 enterprises with 100% State-owned capital and 5 ones with State-owned capital.

In the coming time, local enterprises need to approach, absorb and master new, advanced and high-tech technologies in a bid to improve productivity and quality of products and goods, serve the further development of production and business, and increase their competitiveness in the market.
