With a desire to make small efforts towards sustainable development goals of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, the DUE Marketer Club under the Da Nang University of Economics has chosen 4 out of 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations to implement the ‘2023 Plus’ campaign. The intention is to convey a message about physical and mental health, education quality, gender equality, and fresh water as our planet's most valuable resource, to pupils from primary to senior high schools.

In the midst of a bustling atmosphere at the Hermann Gmeiner Senior High School, the volunteers of the DUE Marketer Club were busy introducing the "Pure" class project in efforts to convey messages is that fresh water is a precious resource, and small actions can have immense impact, as part of the '2023 Plus' campaign.

"The project which is one of four projects under the '2023 Plus' campaign attracted nearly 100 school pupils from the Hermann Gmeiner Senior High School, Nguyen Phu Huong, Nguyen Van Linh, Pham Ngoc Thach junior high shools, and more", remarked student Do Minh Thu, the Vice Chairman of the DUE Marketer Club.

Student Ha Nhu Nguyet, a member of the DUE Marketer Club, said that the "Pure" class helps school pupils understand that water is a precious and finite resource and how to identify polluted, dirty, and clean water. At the same time, heed was paid to giving examples of water pollution and its effects on human health. Contaminated water can harbor bacteria, such as those responsible for diarrhea, skin diseases, malnutrition, and even cancer and other diseases, depending on the pollutant that is in the water body. Water pollution has direct impact on life quality and longevity, along with labour productivity. Besides, the club conducted the experiments with water and simple materials such as plastic bottles, and sand, as well as organizes water-related games, thereby helping school pupils understand more about the quality of water used for domestic purposes and raising their awareness about water as a finite resource.

Furthermore, the club successfully organized an exhibition entitled ‘There are more than two genders’ with the aim of reducing negative stereotypes about lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, along with a Book Festival themed ‘Who is my Soulmate?’ with the purpose of encouraging good reading habits in school pupils and raising their awareness of the importance of books in our life.

In particular, the club hosted a talk show named "Soul" with the presence of Zen master Thong Dong in order to help young people better understand the necessity of maintaining a healthy mind and positive lifestyle.

The club collected 100 books from donors at the Book Fair. These books were already sent to the Hoa Mai Orphanage Center so that orphan children will have more opportunities to receive access to invaluable knowledge.

For the exhibition entitled ‘There are more than two genders’, the club created a meaningful art space to tell beautiful stories about LGBT people so that the general public can have a deeper insight into these people.

Sharing more about the "2023 Plus" campaign, Tran Duc Anh Son, the Chairman of DUE Marketer Club said: "The '2023 Plus' campaign has been cherished by the club for a long time. It aims to achieve our common goal to say that we can't change the world, but we together can take small actions, do something meaningful to make a positive impact in the world and to build a better world. The club’s members feel happy to do something meaningful to our community and society, and the world at large.”
