The Da Nang Union of Friendship Organisations, and the municipal branch of the Viet Nam-US Friendship Association, on Saturday, held a closing ceremony for an online course on English communication and writing skills at the elementary level for cadres, civil servants and public employees in the city.

Sponsored by the Regional English Office and the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the course was organised from February 9 - May 25. It had 28 trainees who were responsible for reception work at local government departments and agencies, district-level authorities, and social organisations.

During the 15-week course, trainees were taught by teachers from the United States and the University of Foreign Language Studies - the University of Da Nang in 10 topics of English communication and writing skills, suitable for their daily work.

Based on the sessions and results of the midterm and final exams, 19 trainees were granted certificates of course completion.

The course helped local officials and employees improve their English skills, as well as created an international exchange space for them to learn about both language and culture.
