It is known that this is the third model kitchen built with sponsorship from the Japanese Government. This shows the Japanese Government's appreciation for the contributions of the School Meals Project in improving the nutritional status of Vietnamese children. At the same time, such a supportive action also helped to honour friendship between Viet Nam and Japan, especially in the context of 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori emphasized: "I hope the Ngo Gia Tu Primary School and Son Tra District People's Committee would continue to maintain school kitchen management and make greater efforts to improve nutrition for children with a boarding kitchen model under the School Meal Project in Da Nang.”
Over the past 10 years, the School MealsProject has provided millions of pupils nationwide with nutritionally balanced, diverse and delicious meals. Pupils are educated about the nutritional value of foods and practical knowledge to help improve their understanding and create healthier eating habits.
Mr. Tsutomu Nara, the General Director of Ajinomoto Viet Nam company said, “The purpose of existence is to contribute to the health and happiness of Vietnamese people and society through providing quality products and valuable initiatives, Ajinomoto Viet Nam company has been implementing many valuable initiatives in the field of health nutrition, receiving recognition and appreciation from the community, especially the School Meals Project with the goal of contributing to Vietnamese children's nutrition and health".
Building a one-way model kitchen model according to Japanese standards is one of the key contents of the School Meal Project, in addition to software for building nutritionally balanced menus and nutritional education material named ‘Three minutes to change perception”.
For the model kitchen at Ngo Gia Tu Primary School, Ajinomoto Viet Nam is in charge of consulting and training relevant personnel to operate the kitchen according to standard one-way kitchen procedures, ensuring food hygiene and safety.
