After the negotiation process, the Nam Long Technology Investment Group (NLT Group) has just donated and handed over four kits of practical and experimental equipment to the University of Science and Technology. These are kits for students majoring electronics – telecommunication, and environmental technology, to practice and experience smart technology.
Associate Professor, PhD. Nguyen Huu Hieu, the Principal of Polytechnic University, said that the donated kits help the university strengthen the connection between theoretical training with application and practice, as well as help students have more opportunities to access new and modern laboratory equipment.
It is known that the University of Science and Technology is the first school to receive, put into operation and use a practice kit to simulate processes such as a lab for students in smart technology fields.
Dr. Bui Huu Phu, Chairman of NLT Group, informed that in addition to supporting facilities for the University, the group is instructing students of the University of Technical Education under the University of Da Nang to operate the digital transformation system at the school’s Digital Transformation Research and Practical Training Department.
The more than VND10 billion project, funded by the NLT Group, aims to bring high technology into schools, helping students be confident and keep up with core technologies and digital application platforms.
On the basis, the enterprise's technical experts will coordinate with faculties and departments to guide practical instructors and students to grasp high-tech platforms such as AI, IoT, GIS Cloud in exploiting and operating intelligent monitoring and control management systems for lighting, fire warning, environmental management and protection, agriculture and fisheries.
In addition, the University of Technical Education has recently received 4 Siemens Simatic S7-1200 PLC Demo KITs from the Bien Dong Electric Automation Technology Engineering Co., Ltd. (ESTEC) for application in training in the fields of Automation, Electrical systems, Mechanical engineering, and Mechatronics.
Dr. Nguyen Linh Nam, Vice Principal of the University of Technical Education, highlighted the significance of strengthening school-business cooperation in bringing many values to related parties.
Specifically, lecturers, especially students, can directly practice and experience new technology simulating a real production environment. Meanwhile, the school has additional equipment and facilities to improve training capacity and meet the needs of businesses and society. Along with that, businesses not only promote their brands and products, but also accompany and demonstrate social responsibility with schools in training high-quality human resources.
Previously, the NLT Group had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Viet Nam - South Korea University of Information and Communications Technology (VKU) in research, technology transfer, and improvement quality of human resource training and development for society.
Associate Professor, PhD. Huynh Cong Phap, Rector of VKU, affirmed that the cooperation between VKU and NLT Group opened up many new opportunities for both parties to promote proper and long-term investment in training, science and technology, and industry development.
Under the agreement, the NLT Group will grant scholarships for students with excellent academic achievements and outstanding scientific research projects.
The two sides will coordinate to implement and sign contracts on scientific and technological research projects involving the fields of transportation, lighting, oil and gas, environment, and smart agriculture.
In the time to come, the NLT Group will support the university to build a research and training room for digital transformation practice on the technology platforms of IoT, AI, GIS, Cloud and others.
It can be said that the increased signing and cooperation with large corporations and enterprises in recent times by the University of Da Nang has opened up more opportunities for businesses and member schools to promote improvements in training programmes, develop innovation ecosystems, and stay ahead of the trend of technology application for ensuring the sustainable development in the digital era.
