In attendance at the event were municipal Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang, and People’s Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.
Accordingly, in order to implement policies and projects to develop semiconductor sector, in 2024, the city will focus on training a source of teaching staff with the coordination of teaching from the Viet Nam-Korea Information Technology (IT) and Communications University under the University of Da Nang, the Institute of Information Technology under the Viet Nam National University - Ha Noi, and the Da Nang Semiconductor and Artificial Intelligence Centre for Research and Training (DSAC), and with the support of Synopsys Vietnam Company.
The first training course for lecturers will have 25 participating lecturers selected from the Viet Nam-Korea Information Technology (IT) and Communications University, the Da Nang University of Science and Technology, the University of Technical Education, the Duy Tan University and the FPT University.

The training programme will take place for 6 months, including 3 months of theoretical learning and 3 months of project-based training with 4 modules on Very-large-scale integration (VLSI) Design; SystemVerilog/Verilog/Very High-Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language; basic digital integrated circuits; and basic analog circuit design.
The highlight of the programme is that lecturers will have the opportunity to get access to Synopsys' entire library and teaching materials. When completing the programme, they can develop a practical IC design curriculum.
In his remarks at the launching ceremony of the programme, Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh highlighted the extremely important role of a team of quality lecturers to train human resources for the city’s semiconductor industry aside from improved facilities and support policies.
He, therefore, emphasised that the launch of the semiconductor human resources training programme was a specific milestone and an important step in the strategy of promoting the development of high-quality human resources for the city's semiconductor industry.
Mr. Minh revealed that the city will cooperate with domestic and foreign partners in 2024 in a bid to deploy further training courses for lecturers as well as human resources in the city's semiconductor industry or send local lecturers to international training facilities for studying.
He believed that the international cooperation will be expanded to reputable partners in other countries in the next training courses.
On the occasion, the Viet Nam-Korea Information Technology (IT) and Communications University opened a short-term training course on semiconductor circuit design for 20 third and fourth-year students studying such majors as computer engineering technology, embedded systems and IoT, and information technology; and for employees who want to work in the field of semiconductor circuit design.
Besides, the university officially opened the Centre for Semiconductor and Smart Technology (VKU-SSTH) with a total investment of about VND10 billion which comes from the South Korean government-funded US$ 7.7 million ODA project for the 2022-2027 period, serving training of semiconductor circuit courses.
