Big journeys begin with small steps
'Big journeys begin with small steps' is the slogan that members of the Tourism Club under the Da Nang University of Science and Education, called UED Tourism Club for short, always emphasise during their journey of learning and playing.
The UED Tourism Club has cooperated with Gum.tailor to launch a campaign to clean up the environment at Da Nang tourist beaches. |
After 5 years of establishment, the club has become a common home for young people who love travelling and want to spread beautiful images of the city to friends near and far.
The UED Tourism Club was formerly an academic club under the Faculty of History. Later, the club operated under the management and administration of the Student Association, attracting about 60 students inside and outside the university.
In late March, the club organised a picnic and nature experience tour in Hoa Bac Commune, Hoa Vang District, to celebrate its 5th birthday.
Pham Nguyen Nhat Minh, leader of the UED Tourims Club, shared that the tour was one of many club activities in the spirit of "learning while playing", creating connections between students who love to travel and seniors. These activities can be campus, games or dissemination of career skills. Sometimes it's an annual camping trip, visiting landscapes and relics such as the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the Marble Mountains, the My Khe beach and the Cham Island.
"Trips like that are an opportunity for the club members to learn many things. It doesn't stop at a regular sightseeing trip, it's a miniature tour with teambuilding activities, practicing as a tour guide to introduce destinations. Our desire is to experience everything about Da Nang tourism and share it with everyone" Minh said.
Recently, the club has coordinated with the Geography - Environment Club to successfully organize the volunteer programme themed "Warm Spring", bringing gifts of necessities, candy and a lunch to the children at the Da Nang Care Center for Victims of AO and Unfortunate Children No.3.
According to Nhat Minh, one of the messages that the club wants to convey to everyone is the spirit of civilized tourism. Through trips, combining fun and learning with cleaning at destinations, the Club wants all people and tourists to be conscious of preserving environmental hygiene "leaving nothing but footprints".
Student Nguyen Yen Nhi, Deputy Head of the Club, shared that since she joined the club's activities, she has loved the people and land of Da Nang more. She wanted to introduced Da Nang's safe and friendly tourist environment to visitors at both home and abroad.
Mr. Tang Chanh Tin, President of the Student Association of the University of Science and Education, assessed that the UED Tourism Club is currently very active and creative. The club has organised many academic activities related to tourism as well as social volunteer activities. Many members of the club are very enthusiastic, energetic and are the nucleus of the school's union and association movements.
