Axon Active Company (AAVN) and Da Nang-based Duy Tan University (DTU) recently co-organised the annual information technology (IT) event DevDay 2024.

The event features more than 20 domestic and foreign enterprises in the fields of AI, blockchain, and cybersecurity; 20 technology exhibition booths; 30 IT speakers.

This year’s DevDay introduced the latest and in-depth information about AI (Artificial intelligence) techtrends under the theme ‘Ainovation’ such as building a semiconductor and AI centre in Da Nang; humanism in technology; future orientation of IT career; accelerating products with AI.

This was an opportunity for students and technology enthusiasts to access the latest knowledge, the most modern technology trends and learn from leading experts in this field.

DevDay Da Nang is an annual information technology event initiated by AAVN since 2015, becoming an indispensable part of the IT community in Da Nang.

According to Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications Tran Ngoc Thach, the IT industry in Da Nang is growing in a rapid and sustainable manner in both revenue and output, and it is one of the city's key economic sectors.

The entire city currently has 2.3 digital technology businesses/1,000 people, ranking second after the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City and 3 times the national average. The number of digital technology workforce is, for the time being, about 53,000 people.

The industry-wide revenue in 2023 reached VND 36,571 billion, an increase of 8.1% from 2022. The software export turnover reaches US$147.8 million, up by 12% compared to 2022.
Da Nang’s digital economy contributes about 20% of the city's GRDP structure.

Currently, the Da Nang Department of Information and Communications is building and completing a project to develop semiconductor circuits and AI, focusing on chip design, assembly, testing and packaging.

By 2030, there will be at least 5,000 people working in the field of semiconductor ICs, with 1,500 human resources in IC design and 3,500 human resources in packaging and testing.
