Mr Truong Van Hoa, a member of the Standing Committee of the Da Nang Study Encouragement Association, mentioned that the Huynh Thuc Khang Talent Promotion Award was established during the 1998-1999 academic year. Since the 2004-2005 academic year, this award has been officially recognised as a significant award in the fields of education and learning encouragement. It is awarded to 9th and 12th graders who demonstrate excellence in both conduct and academic performance, as well as those who have won prizes in municipal-level competitions or higher.

Mr Hoa emphasised that the award not only celebrates academic achievements but also spreads and encourages a spirit of learning among students throughout the city. It has effectively promoted a robust movement of academic competition, motivating students to achieve exceptional results and contributing to the development of the city's human resources and talent nurturing.

According to the Association, over the past 25 years, more than 800 pupils have received the Huynh Thuc Khang award, encouraging them to follow the example of the patriotic scholar Huynh Thuc Khang.

Many past recipients, whether now graduates or still in university, remember the scholarship as a prestigious recognition of their efforts and talents during their school years. Numerous letters and emails from current and former students have expressed their gratitude and thoughts about the award.

The association's president, Mr Nguyen Minh Hung, remarked that the Huynh Thuc Khang Award held special significance as it encouraged pupils to strive for academic excellence. The award recognises pupils who have demonstrated outstanding performance throughout their schooling, serving as exemplary figures in their pursuit of learning and self-improvement. Recipients of the award are expected to continue proving their capabilities and achieving new accomplishments. This scholarship is considered an invaluable asset for their future endeavors.

In August 2024, the Da Nang Study Encouragement Association, in collaboration with the Department of Education and Training, plans to present the Huynh Thuc Khang award to outstanding pupils for the 2023-2024 academic year. Approximately 40 to 45 outstanding students will be recognised, with a total funding of around VND 200 million. The Imexpharm Pharmaceutical JSC continues to be the main sponsor of this award. Since the 2001-2002 academic year, Imexpharm has consistently supported the Huynh Thuc Khang Award, contributing over VND 2 billion to approximately 700 outstanding students.

The company's leader explained that the award selection criteria are based on the average scores from consecutive academic years and achievements in city-level competitions or higher. This approach aligns with the award's goal of promoting talent and the company's educational philosophy, "Education as the foundation for future development" in their social responsibility efforts. The passion and thirst for learning exhibited by the pupils not only lead to personal achievements but also inspire their communities. This serves as a significant source of inspiration for future generations of students.

Through education, the company aims to contribute resources to support disadvantaged individuals and nurture talent, thereby indirectly providing high-quality human resources for society.

Naming the award after Huynh Thuc Khang, a figure renowned for his extensive knowledge, strong will, and high moral standards, underscores the honour bestowed upon the recipients. These pupils are recognised for their excellence in both academic achievements and moral development. As they stand at the threshold of new educational environments, whether high school or university, this encouragement and support will provide them with the motivation to continue excelling.
