The Palo Alto Networks-organised event, themed "Cybersecurity in the AI Era”, Here, featured discussions about the growing impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the cybersecurity landscape and increasingly complex threats in Viet Nam.

During the conference, a number of new technologies such as Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Generative AI (GenAI were introduced to businesses and organisations with the aim to enhance their protection against AI-powered threat tactics.

Also, Precision AI integrated on Palo Alto Networks’ Strata™, Prisma® and Cortex® platforms hoped to provide advanced capabilities to organisations.

At the same time, experts from Palo Alto Networks also made recommendations on how to combat AI attacks by using AI itself for defense.

Mr. Doan Quang Hoa, Director of Technology Department of the Palo Alto Networks Viet Nam, shared that recently, in Viet Nam, cyber threats such as fraud and scams have been on rise, increasing security vulnerabilities of businesses. When applying AI, these risks continue to increase, the time for attacks to steal customer data is increasingly shortened, even many organizations do not know that they have been attacked for a long time. Therefore, investing in network solutions using Al is mandatory, vital to the survival of organisations and businesses. Palo Alto Networks has provided solutions for businesses and organisations in Viet Nam since 2011, and in 2019, it officially opened a branch operating in Viet Nam.

According to a recent study by Palo Alto Networks, the manufacturing sector in ASEAN is the most vulnerable to ransomware attacks, largely due to limited system visibility and inadequate network monitoring. In Viet Nam, the manufacturing sector plays a crucial role, accounting for more than 20% of GDP, so cyberattacks will seriously threaten the stability of the national economy.
