Outshining numerous entries in the “Food Preparation and Beverage Mixology” category, Ms Duong Phan Tra My excelled with her lecture on preparing the cocktail Tequila Sunrise. She shared that the drink was chosen for its aesthetic appeal and the harmonious blend of flavours, symbolising the brightness of a new dawn.

To perfect her lecture, Ms My invested five months in meticulous preparation to deliver a compelling 60-minute session. Adhering to the contest's theme, “Vocational Educators: Exemplary, Innovative, Digital, and Global – Driving Modern, Inclusive, Flexible, and Sustainable Education,” she and her colleagues thoroughly studied new contest requirements. These highlighted the integration of information technology, digital transformation, environmental protection, and sustainable development in teaching practices.

Her lecture incorporated digital tools, videos, and e-learning techniques, ensuring accessibility and engagement for students. Additionally, the environmentally friendly use of materials like grass and stainless steel straws promoted plastic waste reduction. This innovative approach not only earned her the contest's top prize but also the award for “Effective Application of IT and Digital Transformation.”

Furthermore, Ms My received a commendation from the Central Youth Union for her outstanding achievements. Reflecting on the experience, she expressed her overwhelming joy and pride in winning the highest award for Da Nang teachers and her college. “The contest featured high-quality lectures and effective teaching methods from educators across the country. Winning this award reinforces the reputation of our institution and the city’s vocational education training,” she noted.

The 2024 National Vocational Teachers’ Teaching Conference featured 462 educators from 68 teams competing in 25 categories. The organisers awarded 25 first prizes, 50 second prizes, 75 third prizes, and recognised six teams for collective excellence. The Da Nang delegation secured one first prize, one third prize, and six consolation prizes.

Among the winners, Mr Nguyen Dang Lam, a lecturer in the Electrical and Electronics Faculty at Da Nang Vocational Training College, earned a consolation prize for his lecture on “Determining the Polarity of Three-Phase Induction Motor Windings Using Direct Current.” This lecture previously won first prize at the 2024 Da Nang Vocational Teachers’ Teaching Conference, organised by the Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs in September.

As an industrial electricity instructor, Mr Lam emphasised the importance of modern, adaptable teaching methods to ensure students grasp and apply concepts effectively. In both his regular classes and contest lectures, he integrated IT, digitised materials, and used visual models, enabling comprehensive understanding and skill development. “Participating in the contest allows us to exchange ideas, explore standardised educational methods, and identify effective teaching approaches to improve our practices and deliver high-quality lessons,” he shared.

According to Mr Ho Viet Ha, Principal of Da Nang Vocational Training College, the achievements of Da Nang teachers at the national contest as a testament to their dedication and skill. He noted that the event fosters a “Teach Well, Learn Well” movement within vocational education while honouring exemplary educators with creative and impactful teaching methods.

Looking ahead, Mr Ha stated that the college would disseminate the effective methods learned during the contest across its teaching staff. The institution aims to implement innovative, technology-driven teaching practices to ensure students quickly and effectively acquire both knowledge and professional skills.
