Improvement of training quality
The University of Technical Education has recently visited and worked with businesses operating in engineering and technology in the northern provinces, aiming to connect cooperation and create internship and employment opportunities for its students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Le Hung, the school's principal, said that the school has implemented many internship activities associated with the business environment for about 1,500 students.
In addition to domestic businesses, school students have joined graduation internships in France with a salary of 1,200 euros/month each. Also, the school has cooperated and guided students to carry out their graduation projects at enterprises, and business representatives have participated in the evaluation council for students' scientific research topics.
Similarly, the University of Economics has actively cooperated with many enterprises in the Central Highlands region to develop training programmes, support internships and improve training quality for students.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Doan Ngoc Phi Anh, Vice Principal of the University of Economics, said that the school currently has 3 training programmes with specific orientations (e-commerce, management information systems, and tourism and travel management). These programmes have the participation of enterprises in building and developing training programmes, and organising training courses for students in the form of guest lectures and practice at enterprises. Thanks to this connection, the training programmes are designed to be close to reality, so students have the opportunity to access a professional working environment and develop necessary practical skills.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cao Quang Bang, Head of the Department of Science, Technology and International Cooperation of the University of Science and Technology, highlighted the significance of the cooperation between universities and enterprises in not only creating conditions for students to access practical knowledge but also helping universities improve the quality of training, thereby meeting the needs of the labour market. The school's training programmes are carried out according to the project-based learning model. Accordingly, students will implement their graduation projects at domestic and foreign companies and enterprises or at research laboratories for 4-6 months; and will be co-supervised by the school's lecturers, and engineers and experts of partners to solve practical problems.
Closely following market demand
In August 2023, the University of Science and technology - the University of Da Nang and the consortium of Hanabi JSC and Hashimotogumi JSC signed a cooperation agreement on Japanese language training, organised seminars on the Japan-Viet Nam human resource development, and recruited graduates to work in Japan. Accordingly, students joining the programme are provided with free Japanese language training.
Seven engineers of the first training course graduated in September 2024, participating in interviews with 3 Japanese companies, namely Oziwa Doboku, Tokyo Techno and Topy. Currently, 5 students are joining the second training course, and the recruitment of trainees for the third course is underway.
Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Le Hung said that the University of Technical Education prioritised comprehensive cooperation with businesses through signing memoranda of understanding and cooperation agreements with a focus on sending students to do internships at businesses, and supporting them with jobs after graduation.
Many students of the university are recruited by domestic and foreign businesses such as Thaco Chu Lai Group JSC, Hoa Phat Dung Quat Steel JSC, Deo Ca Group, FPT Software, VTC, Sun World Ba Na Hills, Mabuchi Motor Da Nang Co., Ltd., and Japan’s ME Company.
According to leaders of the University of Da Nang, cooperation between universities and businesses is an inevitable trend today, playing an importance role in training high-quality human resources. Member schools are strengthening cooperation and deep connections with businesses. The content of cooperation is based on the needs and strengths of the parties. In particular, businesses will support facilities and equipment for students’ practice and experiments and boost scientific research.
