Driven by a passion for teaching, many educators in Hai Chau District have become exemplary figures in education, tirelessly dedicating their skills, creativity, and efforts to the cause. These include teacher Ho Quang (Nguyen Hue Junior High School), teacher Vo Xuan Cam Thi (Le Lai Primary School), and teacher Tran Thi Ha Thanh (Principal of 20-10 Kindergarten), among others.
Teacher Ho Quang is highly regarded by his school for his exceptional guidance in the UPU international letter-writing competition. Additionally, he is a key participant in the school’s cultural, artistic, and sports activities.
"Teaching is perhaps the one profession where success comes only when you put your heart and character into it," says teacher Ho Quang, who has inspired creativity and passion in generations of his students.
Similarly, with over her 20-year teaching career, teacher Vo Xuan Cam Thi has been recognised 10 times as an Emulation Fighter, awarded the title of Outstanding Teacher at the city level once, and at the district level three times. She has also received three commendations from the Da Nang’s People’s Committee.
As a pioneer in innovating teaching methods, assessments, and the use of technology in her field, Ms. Thi focuses on enhancing the quality of instruction, consistently employs innovative methods, integrates technology effectively into her lessons, uses teaching aids, and prepares lessons thoroughly. She also adapts methods to suit students' needs. Furthermore, she has successfully coached students to achieve high rankings in national, city, and district-level Internet Olympiads of English (IOE) competitions.
Meanwhile, teacher Tran Thi Ha Thanh, with 34 years of experience in education, has made significant contributions to her profession. Notable innovations include the "Intellectual and Physical Development Toolkit for Preschoolers," which has been praised for its practicality, scientific approach, safety, and aesthetic appeal. Another initiative, the "Projection Device for Learning and Playing Activities for Preschoolers," has also proven effective. "A school is a home for children. If we truly love our profession, our work, and the children, our efforts will be rewarded by the smiles and growth of the children," Ms. Thanh shared.
According to Mr Nguyen Duc Tu Anh, Head of Hai Chau District’s Education and Training Department, the 2023-2024 academic year marks the fourth year of implementing the 2018 National Education Programme. This period has seen positive changes in management, teaching, and learning approaches within schools. The shift to innovative teaching and assessment methods has promoted the development of students' critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills, contributing to their holistic growth in both character and competence.
These changes highlight the tremendous efforts of the district’s education administrators and teachers in meeting numerous demands while achieving outstanding results. Achievements include successes in competitions such as the UPU international letter-writing contest (with Nguyen Hue Junior High School consistently achieving high rankings), the National Youth Informatics Competition, and city-level student competitions.
Such accomplishments have not come easily. In the early stages of educational reform, teachers faced significant challenges, including increased workloads and the need for self-directed learning to master modern teaching techniques and methodologies. Nevertheless, driven by their passion and love for children, these educators have elevated the quality of education in Hai Chau District, always striving for the benefit of their beloved students.
