In Da Nang, there are approximately 278,000 members of youth union organisations, accounting for nearly 30% of the population. With a proud revolutionary history, the city’s youth have faith in the leadership, policies, and development plans of the local government, and are always ready to participate in socio-economic growth efforts.

Youth organisations actively innovate their content, methods, and approaches to be more engaging and suitable for the psychology of young people and regional characteristics. Through educational activities, campaigns, and patriotic movements, they create a healthy environment for young people to grow, fostering revolutionary ideals, high moral standards, a compassionate lifestyle, adherence to the law, and gradual personal development.

In line with Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW from the Politburo on continuing the implementation of Directive No. 05-CT/TW (12th tenure) regarding learning and following the ideology, ethics, and style of President Ho Chi Minh, the Da Nang Youth Union has successfully introduced initiatives such as “Reading books about Uncle Ho, Learning and Acting” and the political campaign “Learning from Uncle Ho through Stories”, integrating moral lessons into QR codes for accessibility.

Moral education and gratitude activities are continuously enhanced. The initiative “We Are Always with Mothers” takes place every two months at the homes of 98 Heroic Vietnamese Mothers across the city. These visits include health check-ups, house cleaning, care of memorial altars, and sharing meals with the mothers. Legal education is also diversified through programmes such as “Reaching Out to Troubled Lives” and “Living Responsibly – Bright Minds Towards Goodness” at the Bau Bang Social Centre, Juvenile Reform School No. 3, and neighbourhoods with at-risk youth.

Furthermore, the Youth Union has implemented the “Digitalising Revolutionary Sites” project, producing narrated videos on 86 historical and cultural landmarks, aligned with the “Pride in Our Hometown’s Heritage” campaign. Activities such as “Flowers for Heroes’ Graves” and “Lighting the Cemeteries” further reinforce the spirit of gratitude. The Union has also hosted an online interactive programme titled “Da Nang’s Youth and Vietnamese Law”, including panel discussions and online quizzes about cybersecurity laws. This year’s series included four episodes, each with refreshed themes to maintain engagement.

Aligned with the “Aspiration to Contribute – Youth Role Models” campaign, the “Meaningful Day” initiative has been launched to build comprehensive youth role models through community service activities. Beyond regular volunteering efforts, the Youth Union has introduced a new model, “Community United to Protect Water Resources and Revive the Phu Loc River Landscape”, in Thanh Khe District.

This project aims to raise public awareness about water conservation and landscape restoration while promoting sustainable community models. It also nurtures a culture of environmental protection among the city’s youth.

To encourage healthy lifestyles, the Da Nang Youth Union and the Youth Federation host weekly weekend activities along the western bank of the Han River. These events bring young people together to improve their mental well-being, avoid social vices, and attract tourists to the city.
