Many useful professional research projects

Included in the list honoured by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union with "Outstanding Young Teacher" Award in 2024, Thuy has a long list of admirable achievements.

After graduating Taekwondo major in 2012, Thuy was retained to work at the Da Nang University of Physical Education and Sports.

The young female lecturer, responsible for teaching Martial Arts, is always dedicated to each theoretical and practical lecture with the desire to fully impart good knowledge and skills to pupils.

In addition to teaching, Thuy also has many contributions in research activities, such as working with colleagues to carry out the grassroots project "Research on improving the training programme for bachelors in physical education at the University of Physical Education and Sports in Da Nang to meet social needs".

Thuy said that many drowning incidents have been reported among children in mountainous areas, including Huong Hoa District, Quang Tri Province.

"Many places in the mountainous district of Huong Hoa are facing a lack of facilities, so it is quite difficult for children to access swimming skills lessons at the swimming pool. Faced with that concern, my colleagues and I came up with a solution to propagate to local people to reduce drowning accidents. Currently, that solution has been and is being applied more effectively in the community" Ms. Thuy said.

Similarly, in the teaching process combined with practical experience, she wrote an article entitled "Choosing general physical development exercises for male pupils in grade 11 at the Le Quy Don Senior High School, Tam Ky City, Quang Nam Province".

According to her, adolescents need to focus on groups of exercises to develop speed, strength, endurance, flexibility and exercises to develop motor coordination. Therefore, the physical education programme in general schools aims to develop physical fitness in general and physical fitness in particular for pupils, so that they have enough health to study and create a premise for physical development in the following years. This is the appropriate age in terms of physical condition for research. Most of the exercises Ms. Thuy chose in the topic are widely applied for practice in general schools.

Joining hands for the safety of girls

In the role of Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union organisation of the university, the young female lecturer have actively got involved in many youth union activities and volunteer movements.

Notably, in 2023 and 2024, Thuy directly implemented the programme "Defence and self-defence skills for children" in Quang Nam Province and Da Nang, as well as organised training classes on self-defense skills, prevention of abuse and injury for 1,000 female pupils in the city.

Ms. Thuy said that through the classes, she wanted to equip pupils, especially female ones, with more knowledge and skills to protect themselves. Sharing about her work, she said that the greatest joy and happiness of a person standing on the podium is to see pupils safe and happy when going to school.

"My colleagues and I always strive to support pupils to access and develop in a learning environment that is physically and mentally complete" she shared.
