The Da Nang health officials reported that the British man who has recovered from the disease tested positive for the virus again on 12 April. His positive results for the deadly virus came after he already flew back to the UK on 11 April. There have been no such cases reported in Viet Nam so far.

On 11 April, medical staff at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport conducted a Covid-19 quick test on the British man before he flew back home. As a result, his test results came back positive one day later.

The British man, who became the first coronavirus patient in Da Nang and the 22nd patient in Viet Nam on 8 March, has been cured in the Da Nang General Hospital. He left the hospital on 27 March following three consecutive negative results at least 24 hours apart. He has been discharged from hospital after a nearly 2-week battle with Covid-19.

The British man left Da Nang for Ho Chi Minh city on 10 April after completing his 14-day self-isolation period at the Sam Grand Hotel after discharge following the Ministry of Health's guidelines.

His stay period in Viet Nam spans 40 days beginning on 2 March and ending on 11 April.
