Covid-19 updates on 12 May

As of 3.30 pm on 12 May, the number of confirmed coronavirus (known as Covid-19) cases around the world has jumped to 4,257,583.

Viet Nam reported no new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday, marking 26 straight days with no cases of community transmitted Covid-19, said the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control. Among the 288 confirmed cases are 148 imported ones who have been put into quarantine for 2 weeks after arrival in Viet Nam and 140 cases of community transmission. Till date, 249 patients, or 86 percent of the total, have recovered from the disease. On Monday, eight patients treated at the Ha Noi-based National Hospital for Tropical Disease No. 2 were given the all-clear. They will continue undergo quarantine and health monitoring for 14 days. Of the 39 remainders still under treatment, eight have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once while 11 others negative at least twice.

Thus far six people have been diagnosed with the disease in Da Nang, and all of them have been cleared of the virus.
