Marble Mountains - then and now

DA NANG Today
Published: December 13, 2013

The Marble Mountains is a group of five marble and limestone mountains located about 10 km south of the city centre.  Each mountain is named after one of the five elements in ancient oriental philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.  It is one of the most popular beauty spots in the central region, and a must for every visitor to Da Nang.

There are numerous French documentary photos, mostly printed as postcards, which depict the beauty of the site over the previous century.

Da Nang Today would like to show you some past and present images of the Marble Mountains. Some things have changed, some are nearly the same, and some have disappeared.
