Thousands gather for Lunar New Year's Eve celebration
Published: February 01, 2014
Some major streets like Le Duan, Tran Phu and Bach Dang streets were crowded with thousands of Da Nang’s residents and visitors to celebrate the Lunar New Year's Eve.
The Bach Dang Spring Flower Street attracted a large number of people and they became involved in taking photos to save their memorable moments with beautiful floral decorations. Also on Bach Dang Street are the display of numerous ancient artifacts, bamboo shoulder poles, and rice straw-woven items, as well as the re-creation of the images of scholars doing calligraphy.
In addition, local coffee shops and restaurants along Tran Phu, Le Duan and Pham Van Dong streets were filled with customers.
Various cultural and arts performances were held across the city during the night. In particular, a special musical performance entitled “Welcoming in Spring 2014” drew a great deal of attention from locals and visitors.
Most notably, thousands of people gathered along the banks of the Han River to watch spectacular fireworks displays at the stroke of midnight.
Danang Today would like to share with our readers some photos, taken by our reporters Quynh Trang and My Hanh, which reflect the festive atmosphere at the New Lunar Year’s Eve celebration in the city.
