An event to make the “World’s Longest Spring Roll” took place at the Non Nuoc Beach in Ngu Hanh Son District on Thursday morning. Co-organised by the city’s Tourism Promotion Centre and Korean Air, the event was one of the activities in the Asia-Pacific Onboard Travel forum which was held in the city from 3 - 5 June. The aim was to promote one special dish from the Vietnamese cuisine which might be chosen to serve to passengers on international flights. The spring roll was chosen as it meets the nutritional requirements and eating beliefs of many different groups of people around the world.
Nearly 600 people participated in the event, including students from local colleges and universities, along with 100 foreigners who are culinary experts, managers and suppliers of top-class tourism and aviation services in Asia. At the event, they worked together to make the 500m-long spring roll, which contained 250kg of chicken, 250kg of shrimps, and 200kg of rice vermicelli, along with more than 50kg of rice papers, herbs and salad. The spring roll achieved an official Guinness World Record.
