Fishermen net bumper catches of scad fish
Many of Da Nang’s fishermen recently returned from fishing trips to the Hoang Sa fishing grounds, and elsewhere along the central coast. They were pleased with their bumper catches of scad fish.
During the trips, each fisherman brought in 2 fishing nets per night, each containing a minimum of 2 tonnes and a maximum of 15 tonnes of scad fish. Once caught, the fish were then sold on to Mr Le Van Sang, the owner of the central region’s largest fisheries support ship.
As a result, after trips of over 10 days, each vessel made a profit of between 500 and 800 million VND, after deducting the expenses of their trip.
Da Nang Today would like to share with our readers some photos which were taken by reporter An Nhien as he accompanied the fishermen.
